Community Highlights: Meet Kimberly Lee of KIMBEE Cleaning & Organizing

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I have always loved a home that is clean, organized, and fresh. Both cleaning and organizing came naturally to me and I have found it to be therapeutic, satisfying, and rewarding. Additionally, it is most gratifying to see how we can transform a space with hard work and thoughtful planning.

Enjoying all aspects of a beautiful, comfortable environment, I have had the pleasure of working in hospitality management, kitchen and bath design management, as well as, working with an operations management team of a high-end, luxury home retailer early in my career.

In 2015, I had the opportunity to start my own business, where KIMBEE Cleaning & Organizing was founded. We specialize in highly detailed, eco-friendly residential cleaning and professional organizing, as well as packing and unpacking, servicing Western Wake County (with plans to expand in two more counties, details coming soon!).

And, we are a proud partner of Cleaning for a Reason, where we provide free home cleaning to patients battling cancer.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Although my journey hasn’t always been smooth, our core values of honesty, integrity, & open communication have carried us through some of our more challenging times. Clients and staff may change over the years; however, knowing that everything always works out has always gotten us through those times.

Surprisingly, the obstacles that I encountered were not only the physical aspects of the job but also the administrative side of the business. Those tasks are endless, including staffing, training, supplies, building clientele, marketing, accounting, …there is always something to do and always room for growth. I continue to grow and learn every day.

We offer full-home, partial, & even specific-room cleaning options. All of which may be maintained on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis.

And, of course, we offer one-time, move-in/-out, unpacking, & organizing services too!

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you, and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Covid was an important learning experience. This period allowed KIMBEE to check in with each client to see what their comfort level was with having our technicians in their homes.

Several of our immunocompromised clients paused their service until there was more information on COVID-19, and for those client who stayed with us, we immediately adapted and implemented new protocols that were set in place, such as gloves, masks, thorough disinfecting, … continually adapting as we all received more information.

Adding flexibility and compassion along the way helped us grow during Covid. And, we continue to remain committed to the health and well-being of our clients and staff.
