Conversations with Karlye Hayes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Karlye Hayes.

Hi Karlye, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi, I’m Karlye Hayes and I am an intuitive counselor/guide. I had been questioning my ways of seeing God/Universe, then the pandemic happened. With isolation and plenty of time and space to try new perspectives, I had felt most seen and alive looking at the Divine in a more naturalistic approach through nature and not buildings. At the same time, my mom had been wanting to learn tarot and had asked if I would learn to then teach her, as teaching is something that comes naturally to me. When I inched my way through the deck, I realized that these cards were such a tangible way to structurally see a Universe that lacks structure.

This sparked such a new path for me, and I began doing readings for myself and others until it felt natural to pursue this as an experience people can pay to have. I had moved to Glasgow, Scotland in 2021 and really pursued this venture through and after lockdown, and the community that came with this journey, as well as other ventures I embarked on, proved just how magical and needed this change of path was for me.

I also incorporated yoga into my practice by partaking in yoga teacher training, and I have used that to not only add to my resume but also to mix with tarot to create an intuition-led yoga session: tarot yoga. It’s just been such a dream of a journey.

Now, having moved to North Carolina, I’m excited to see how this journey settles here and how I can best meet the needs of my new neighbors through these gifts.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The main obstacle has been my own confidence in fully expressing myself. Coming from a very Christian background in the Bible Belt (originally from Atlanta, Georgia), it was hard to sort of ‘come out’ with friends who still are within those communities. I have already received major ostracization from church communities in the past for supporting LGBTQIA+ people, so this felt like it would be a repetition of that from people I know and love. For the most part, my closest relationships have not been altered, but yes, with the criticism I have received, it has been a struggle to not feel too triggered as I continue to be my true self and express my love for the Universe/God/etc. Through different approaches.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an intuitive guide to help others trust their own intuition more; I just want people to see how magical they already are. To do this, I specialize in use of tarot cards, yoga sessions, and even music to connect with others and help them feel seen and heard.

I am most proud of how long I have said ‘yes’ to doing this. As a naturally structured person, I could have turned away and gone a more societal-norm approach to paying bills and living my life; however, I kept saying yes even when it looked really ridiculous to everyone around me. I’m proud to have kept going so that I could see my own magic as well as seeing that I mean more than just a structured norm if that’s not what I’m passionate about.

As far as what sets me apart from other intuitive guides: I feel that all guides are different and unique, but if many assume that what we do is predict the future, I’d rather say that I like to affirm the present. I like to affirm what your gut is saying to again, show that the magic you are looking for with me was within you the whole time.
