Today we’d like to introduce you to Bill Tallitsch.
Hi Bill, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I’ve been playing guitar for 30 years and have always been intrigued by how guitar pedals were made but never had the confidence or know how to do anything about it. I think my love for music and engineering over time eventually got me in the position to be able to make my own company and offer a line of really awesome products, while in the beginning, it was just me making some pedals for myself.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It was a little bit tough in the beginning because I made some mistakes with ordering from suppliers and then making some weird decisions as far as what I was offering, but eventually, the artwork came together. I have since become much more organized with my suppliers and came up with a system for assembling the pedals all on my own. I also have new pedals coming soon, and then some redesigning as well. Always trying to improve is the goal I feel.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
By trade, I am a software engineer, but I also have a degree in audio engineering, but I’ve also worked in advertising, and have met some truly creative individuals over the years.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
I like to keep organized using the Drafts app for iPhone. I’m always coming up with different ideas schematics and pedal names and artwork, and I can easily just pop those in when ideas hit me. Recently I was interviewed on the Man the Helm podcast available on Spotify.
