Community Highlights: Meet Ebony Rooks of Well Into Life Holistic Care

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ebony Rooks.

Hi Ebony, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
The number 7 is often considered lucky! For me luck has been the furthest description of my journey! I’ll like to say I am FAVORED… hile some may say it’s cliché… I can attest to favor being my compass and guide throughout this journey, even when I didn’t fully embrace it!

Well here we are… in a new year…2023… the year of 7…The year that has been assigned to me to walk in completion! Many have no idea BUT…In the year of 2007, The late Pastor Green challenged us (The New St. Mark) to write our vision down… For some, this was an easy request, but I struggled with it… I never realized that I had never allowed myself to really DREAM!!! Admittedly, I was and still at times a chronic survivalist! Let’s be real; there is no time to dream when you are laser-focused on surviving!!!

Well, I went back to him hoping to get a pass (I know several of his gray hairs had my name on them) IYKYK… He sent me right back on my way with the same instructions… Write the ViSION! I was frustrated with myself and him….I literally had to still myself and dig deep into my wants and wishes…(we have a way of getting into our own way!) I remember grabbing some random paper and writing out a plan to open a Med Spa…mind you at the time I was on the path to becoming a Social Worker! There was no thought in my mind at all to become a Nurse! Well, years passed, and I found myself often revisiting that dream…no real plans or thoughts towards it…To be 100% honest, I really thought it was an unreachable GOAL! Fear has its ways of crippling and presenting every mirage possible to derail YOU!

Anyway, fast forward to 2010, I was moving back to NC from VA… PMG prophesied that I would have a business and it would be prosperous(the short version)… gain, no plans in action for a business! You know, when God gives you a vision it may not make sense at the moment, but many times over he’s never been wrong! You may not know, The Who, What, When, or How…but I challenge you to hold on to those dreams…if it’s really what you are supposed to be doing…PROVISIONS will be made!!!

In June 2022, I took a leap of faith and invested in myself!!! After many delays, doubts, disappointments, some denials… my DREAM has been fulfilled! On January 7th, Well Into Life Holistic Care officially opened for business! It’s bitter sweet that PMG will not be here physically to see this dream fulfilled; however, I know he would be extremely proud!

This year, BOLD MOVES has taken on much more of a meaning for me! Stay Tuned…

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
2016 my middle son Jaxon was born at 26 weeks, he spent a total of 95 days in the NICU. That season was extremely stressful and difficult. My husband and I managed to mentally stay intact… some days were better than others for sure! Doctors appointments, therapy appointments, and a ton of other developmental appointments kept my agenda full! I really had no time to myself; all my time and energy was put into my family. I lost myself, and my dreams were just that dreams.

It wasn’t until 2020 that the fire began to spark again… I changed my posture and put some better tools in my tool box… I was laser focused… so when 2022 came in, I was very intentional about my steps and connections. Unfortunately, everyone will not remain on the journey with you! That’s a tough pill to swallow…but it’s reality!

I can go on and on about the many obstacles I’ve faced … the no’s, the delays in shipments, the financial mistakes, the expensive pivots while they are only important….nothing compares to the perseverance to see it through!

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Well Into Life Holistic Care PLLC?
Well Into Life Holistic Care was birthed from a place of necessity. The name came from the bible, in my faith the well symbolizes Jesus and his bottomless love he have for us….The well is generally in the center of a community…it brings all walks along life together… Love, community, and humanity are the words that come to my mind when I think of my brand… The color of your skin or your background doesn’t matter…what matters most is that we show one another love and Grace…. It was extremely important that my business was built from a place of love, resilience, strength, integrity, and respect…

The goal is to create generational wealth for my sons (Kaeden, Jaxon, and Emerson) but the ultimate goal is for others to have a opportunity to live a confident, pain-free and healthy lives so they can also provide for their families.

I personally needed more, and while I love being a critical care registered nurse, the amount of death that I was surrounded by became overwhelming. There were so many women that looked like and was close to me in age that lost their battle to Covid-19, only to leave behind family and friends who never got to properly say goodbye… That really does something to your mind… So I focused on my own self-care and my mental health….

It became extremely important to me to provide a safe space for women to come and relax… of course, be pampered!

I was important to me to be a one-stop shop…while all services are not in place at the moment, they are in the works.

Currently, my focus has been providing a safe and judgement-free space for women seeking a lifestyle change….I’ve learned that health is truly wealth, and I wanted to share my knowledge, experience, and personal journey to help other women on their individual journeys… Nothing is one size fits all… we all have unique situations and it important to acknowledge it so there will be fair chance for success.

Holistic health and wellness is key, it’s extremely important to educate and develop a reasonable plan of action! We offer different modalities to help become a better version of you! We offer weight loss management programs, nonsurgical lipo services, post-operation support, body contouring, yoni steams, vitamin replacement, and iv hydration. Additionally, we are connected to access a nutrition coach, fitness trainers, and therapists.

The goal is to provide space for all services to be housed in the same facility but until I will keep connecting and supporting my other fellow entrepreneurs.

I am most proud that my dream is now my reality…I get to share my personal failures and triumphs on my weight loss and wellness journey. I think it’s important for people to know you are coming from a place of sincerity… It let’s them know you are committed to their process and as well your own.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love that concord, NC give you the sense of family and community. There’s a lot of rich history here, and I think it’s important that it stay at the forefront,

I dislike that there are so many small businesses and entrepreneurs that doesn’t get the highlight and support necessary to thrive. Downtown alone has several restaurants and boutiques that offer some many hidden gems.
