Exploring Life & Business with Juliane Kelly of The French Door Boutique

Today we’d like to introduce you to Juliane Kelly. They and their team shared their story with us below:

Juliane Kelly was born and raised in Nags Head, NC. She lived in New York City for many years, where she worked for major media companies; she then returned to Nags Head to follow her entrepreneurial ambitions. The French Door OBX was originally founded in 2005 and then purchased by Juliane in the Spring of 2022. As a result of her strong fashion sense, Juliane has expanded the product offerings to enhance the uniqueness that is the Outer Banks. 

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s challenging at times raising a young family while also managing a successful boutique, but Juliane is committed to her family as well as her business. She agrees with the saying, ‘the days are long, but the years are short.’ She hopes one day her children will look back and be proud of their mom!

The French Door Boutique offers a wide selection of woman’s curated clothing, jewelry, and unique gifts, including premium clothing brands such as Crosby, Free People, Marie Oliver, Cleobella, Show Me Your MuMu, XCVI, Habitat, Oh My Gauze and Hobo. 

The French Door’s DNA has always been to continuously provide a unique shopping experience. Juliane’s goal is for each customer to leave looking and feeling amazing! 

The French Door Boutique has a rich legacy of serving both residents and loyal visitors. “We are thrilled to be a destination for visiting customers who routinely tell us they love visiting the store because we offer them an enjoyable shopping experience,” said Juliane.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
The Outer Banks has always been home to Juliane, but it also becomes home for many who visit. The physically beauty of the Outer Banks is beyond special, which brings visitors back year after year.
