Daily Inspiration: Meet Ta’naya Green

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ta’naya Green.

Hi Ta’naya, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story? 
I moved to Atlanta due to me being accepted into CAU (Clark Atlanta University). Everyone that knows me knows that I am super girly, “Miss Prissy,” as they use to call me. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the beauty industry. I am very deep into skincare, makeup, hair, nails. Just being a pretty girl all around. I first fell in love with doing hair but then lashing became a thing. Around 2019 it became VERY popular, and I indeed was so intrigued. I started to show my interest. I started my lash business in 2020. I took a long break due to my Nursing school journey. And recently started back pushing and promoting my business in 2023. I have recently signed up for school to get my esthetician license. I am a lash supplier, I will be selling my own custom lash trays, lash adhesive, bonder, primer and sealant, strip lashes (for my girlies that are on the go), AND LASTLY, custom tweezers. I’m also aiming towards offering one on one lash courses for my future lash techs. 

I am SUPER proud of myself for accomplishing my goals as a lash tech. This takes time, ambition, hard work, and dedication. I will keep reaching for the stars so that my business flourishes and continues to get better and better. 

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has NOT been a smooth road. No one tells you how hard, lonely, or discouraging that it gets when having a business. The biggest obstacles that I endured when trying to get my business out there was SUPPORT. I wasn’t supported by my friends and family; I was supported by people who didn’t know me. I used to question myself all the time and ask why the people close to me wasn’t supporting me how I needed to be supported. They didn’t share my post; they didn’t like my post. I just felt so overlooked and underbooked SO, I told myself that this my dream, this is my goal. No one sees the finished result but me. So, I locked in on myself. Kept my head down, revamped business, and pushed harder than before. 

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a lash technician. I am known for many things; however, I am known for doing lashes, doing hair, and being a great cook. Lastly, I’m also a notary. I am most proud of my resilience. My ability to keep going no matter what, just being able to not give up despite how I feel, and being able to bounce back from literally ANYTHING. I am different from others because I’m ME. I can’t be duplicated nor replicated. EVERYONE loves me. When I step into the room my aura catches everyone. I can make you smile; I can make you laugh. People naturally navigate towards me. I am UNFORGETABLE. 

My goal as a woman and as a mother is to have more than one stream of income. Financial stability is ONE of my biggest goals outside of my becoming an established lash technician. 

What do you think about luck?
I wouldn’t look at it as luck. I feel it’s more of a blessing. I am good to people, so I feel that I am highly blessed in return. Life is hard enough for everyone. We all have a story, but it’s about what you did to come out on top. One thing I always told myself that my experiences doesn’t define me. They give me the strength to keep going because if I don’t do it, then who will?
