Meet Lori Alderman of Shining Light Reflexology and Reiki

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lori Alderman.

Lori, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin? 
15 years ago, I decided I wanted to help people through Natural healing alternatives. I grew up around the mindset of taking care of the people naturally. I grew up around this mindset. My parents were farmers, and my dad took me yo health food stores. So, while my husband got into massage therapy. I decided to study Reflexology. Then Reiki. So now I’ve added Crystal Healing and sound therapy to my practice. And now I’m studying to be a certified life coach and studying herbs as well. I love helping people 

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I love what I do, but when you are working for yourself sometimes you must live on blind faith. Business is good, but there are ebbs and flows. When business is slower it can seem challenging sometimes. That’s when positivity and having faith is a must because it always works out. Keeping that momentum is very important. I love and appreciate my business and being self-employed 

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Shining Light Reflexology and Reiki? What sets you apart from others?
I am a Reiki Master Teacher and Certified Reflexologist. I practice energy healing. Reiki through working in the aura and light touch helps to open your chakras and promote better chi flow. I also practice Reflexology. Reflexology is a pressure therapy working the hands and feet. Basically, the whole body is mapped out in the feet and hands. Healing is encouraged in those corresponding parts of the body connected to the feet and hands. Both modalities can be great for stress relief, pain relief, digestive issues. anxiety and depression, sleep, and many issues. What sets me apart is that I specialize in stress reduction through working with Reiki. Reflexology sound therapy and crystal healing. I am proud that I can offer a variety of these therapies to encourage relaxation. My husband and I share a space together. He does massage therapy. That’s another thing that sets me apart.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
To me, success is being able to make a living doing what you’re passionate about while helping people and freedom while doing it.
