Hidden Gems: Meet Mary Williams of Precious Memories Photo Booth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mary Williams.

Mary Williams

Hi Mary, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
At a young age, I always knew that I was meant to be an entrepreneur. However, it wasn’t until recently did I start to take that calling seriously. Last year I planned my entire wedding, and that is when I got to learn about an industry I never thought I would be involved in. When planning my wedding, I noticed that the small things are what brings an event together. With that, I noticed how much fun myself and guests had with the photo booth. This is when I got the idea that I, myself, could have a photo booth business and help capture everlasting memories for others.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There have been a few bumps in the road so far but that’s the beauty in the process! They say nothing worth while comes easy and with each mistake comes a lesson learned. And because of that it’s made the journey so rewarding and motivating to keep pushing.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Precious Memories Photo Booth NC is a black-owned mother-daughter business. We are all about making sure we are capturing memories worth a lifetime. As life continues on the only thing you have left to hold onto are precious memories. That’s why we started this business. We want to make sure people never forget about the little things in life that have such a huge impact. That, along with outstanding customer service, is what we strive for with all events we are a part of.

What does success mean to you?
Success to me is when you set goals and accomplish them. Success for me may look different than to others, and that’s okay. Each day, God blesses us to be able to go out and achieve the plan we have set is success. Money is nice. Who doesn’t love money? But having a lot of money doesn’t mean you are successful. For me, making sure I leave a solid foundation for the next person/generation is the goal. What can I do to set up the next to make sure they aren’t experiencing the same failures and heartbreaks is the ultimate achievement. Everything else is extra and something I view as a blessing that I’m also very grateful for.
