Rising Stars: Meet Amanda Perez Abreu

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Perez Abreu.

Amanda Perez Abreu

Hi Amanda, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was born and raised in la Isla del Encanto, my beautiful Puerto Rico. My passion for Mortgages started when I randomly got a job Interview at a Mortgage company that I really didn’t even know I applied to. I worked for that company as a Home Retention Specialist when COVID started. I would help people and assist them with payment arrangements in order to avoid going into Foreclosure. That’s when the spark happened. I ended up moving to North Carolina, and unfortunately, I had to let that opportunity go because I wasn’t able to transfer. Time passed by; I got certified as a Credit Counselor. It’s always been a passion of mine to be able to help people, but I would always think about going back to the Mortgage Industry over and over again; that thought would never leave me alone. Eventually, I started doing my research on how to become a realtor, and somehow, I found information on how to become a Loan Officer instead. Having a background in Finance and Accounting for the past 8 years, this was a better fit for me. I started as a Loan Officer assistant back in 2021, and after 6-7 months, I felt ready to transition to being a Loan Officer. I’m also Bilingual and love serving our Hispanic community.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like everything in general, passion and dedication comes with a price, long day/nights full of nothing but work and sacrifices. At the beginning, I was terrified of my decision due to going through a separation, being in a state completely by myself, and being so new in the industry. Passing my mortgage test and getting Licensed was the “easy” part to this Journey. Today, I can say that no matter how difficult this road has been, I’m glad I took the decision to pursue this path. I have learned so much about myself and Mortgages in general, I had the opportunity to meet AMAZING people that I look up to and grow my passion more and more each day that passes by.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a Bilingual Mortgage Loan Officer; I help and guide people achieve their dream of owning a home. Even if most of my transactions are VA, I’m also able to offer FHA, USDA, Conventional, and Non-QM loans, anything my client(s) need. I’m very proud of my dedication, my growth as a professional and as a person, being able to help clients secure the financing they need, ensuring a smooth loan process, always finding a solution, being able to serve our Hispanic community and our Veterans as well.

What’s next?
My plans for the future involve more self-growth, experiences, and opening my own Brokerage firm or my own business. I will continue to do what I love the most: help and mentor people when it comes to Credit, Finances, and Home Buying process.
