Daily Inspiration: Meet Chris Stokes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Stokes.

Hi Chris, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I grew up on a farm in Greenville. We raised corn, soybeans, wheat, peanuts, and tobacco. We also had chicken houses and a hog farm. My dad sold out of row cropping in 1988. I started Stokes Family Farm in 2019’ with agritourism and wedding venue. We have been building our Fall Festival each year, now we have our own seasonal bake shop and hot foods along with Simply Natural Ice Cream. We offer birthday parties and field trips year-round. My wife Stephanie and 3 kids Parker, Garrett, and Stella can always be found helping during our Fall season along with. My mom Linda and sister Vonda. I pride myself on adding quality barns and activities each year. 

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
To be honest, I have poured my heart into this project, and it has been pretty smooth. I am blessed that our surrounding counties support us! 

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We are known for our clean grounds , restrooms and heated and cooled barns. I have invested a lot to achieve this. 

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
If you want to pursue agritourism then I would say you have to have a passion for it to make it successful!
