Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany and Brennan.
Hi Brittany and Brennan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
As long as I have always loved sweets. After a good meal, I always love to have something sweet afterwards. When my son Brennan (now 12 years) came along, we quickly found that this is something we both share! We started off making party favors for all of our family and friends’ events, and everyone would always rave how we should go into business. One day we went to a kids’ entrepreneur fair that Riley and Corey from Sugar Cloud and Co were participating in, and it was like a light switch turned on seeing all the kids’ entrepreneurs and others selling their goods we knew that we had to get started. Just like that 2 Bee’s Sweet Treats was born. The name comes from our names Brittany and Brennan, and our fascination with bees. We enjoyed spending time together coming up with different ideas for treats and the testing is always the best part. If nothing else, we have so many memories of being in the kitchen working together, and that’s something we will both cherish for the rest of our lives.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I would not say the road has been smooth road. I feel like it is really hard to get and promote your business. We have social media, and we get a lot of business from word of mouth. We have been doing ok business-wise, but we are hoping to increase to bigger orders in the near future.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My everyday job is working for the NC Department of Information Technology in Raleigh, NC, as a Billing Administration Specialist. Brennan is a 7th grade student who is on the A/B honor roll. The treats we specialize in are chocolate-covered pretzels, chocolate-covered cookies, candy kabobs, chocolate-covered marshmallows treats, and cake pops. I am most proud of the persistence and determination of Brennan even if something does not come out right, he and I will come up with a solution. I am also proud of how we handle our orders it is always a team effort, and we both pull our weight. What set us apart from others is the passion we both love to make treats pride ourselves on perfection. We spend countless hours researching the best chocolate, chocolate coloring, and packaging materials.
