My name is Cher Levert, and my path to Cher Suites Company has been a labor of love fueled by my desire to create a space where beauty and wellness thrive. My journey began after retiring from a fulfilling career as an entrepreneur alongside my husband of 43 years, during which we raised four incredible children and welcomed 11 beautiful grandchildren into our lives. Retirement allowed me to explore new avenues and pursue my passions, and opening Cher Suites Company was the perfect opportunity to do just that. When my husband and I acquired the Grace Ballroom building, I saw it as more than just a property investment; it was a canvas for transformation. I envisioned a space that captured the essence of old downtown charm while offering a modern, boutique-style environment for beauty and wellness professionals. We recognized the importance of providing these professionals with a safe and inspiring workplace, so we embarked on an extensive renovation journey. My husband played a crucial role in overseeing the construction renovations, ensuring that our vision for Cher Suites Company was brought to life with meticulous attention to detail. Cher Suites Company is more than just a business to me; it’s a culmination of my lifelong passion for creating beautiful, inspiring spaces and my dedication to empowering others to pursue their dreams and be entrepreneurs themselves!

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Running Cher Suites Company has been a fulfilling journey despite its challenges. While my husband and I have owned businesses before, transitioning to the beauty and wellness industry brought uncertainty. We had to draft policies and adopt new technologies to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for our tenants. Renovating the Grace Ballroom building was a significant undertaking, but seeing the positive impact on our professionals and clients made it worthwhile. Despite the obstacles, we’re committed to providing a space where creativity thrives.

Our diverse community of suite operators includes hairstylists, nail technicians, aestheticians, chiropractors, massage therapists, and more, all of whom benefit from the autonomy and financial rewards of running their own business. At Cher Suites, we take pride in offering beauty and wellness industry professionals an alternative to the traditional salon system. Suite leasing provides stylists with a private space to connect with their clients while still having access to a supportive community of fellow professionals. It’s the best of both worlds, offering the freedom and independence of entrepreneurship without the burdensome overhead costs. What I’m most proud of as the owner of Cher Suites is stepping outside of my comfort zone and venturing into uncharted territory. By creating a space where beauty and wellness professionals can thrive and succeed, I’ve made a meaningful impact on the lives of my tenants. What changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
The suite leasing model will continue gaining popularity in the beauty and wellness industry over the next 5-10 years. This trend reflects a growing desire among professionals for greater autonomy, flexibility, and control over their careers. My vision for Cher Suites Company includes expanding and opening more Cher Suite Salons in the coming years. However, we must maintain the boutique-style charm and personalized approach cultivated at our Angier location.
