Today we’d like to introduce you to Imani Bell.
Hi Imani, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My life started as a gamer and now I am living my dream as a full-time gamer/content creator. Before this journey, I was an all-star cheerleader and dancer. That consumed my life for 14 years. During my free time, I played games and watched gaming videos on YouTube. A friend of mine suggested streaming on Facebook Gaming. I wasn’t sure what the journey would include but I was willing to play games on stream, why not? I streamed late nights after finishing work at 9 pm or so and would jump on stream to hang with my friends. Two years ago, I would have never imagined that I am where I am today, but here I am. I streamed 5 days of the week while working two other jobs. My goal was to build a community of people who enjoyed my content and I did. From zero to 7,810 followers here I am. FB Gaming decided to partner me to their platform and now I can live comfortably. I am now able to create content for other platforms and only have Facebook as my ONLY job. It is the best job ever.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Anything you decide to do in life usually never has a smooth road. There are always highs and lows in content creation. Sometimes you don’t have as many viewers as you usually do and other days you do have a solid group to chat with. There are days your chat isn’t active, days where you aren’t reaching sub-goals, or even sexism and racism. At one point, I lost all of my equipment because I was leaving a very unhealthy relationship. I was relocating home and had to figure out how to replace over $2,000 of equipment. With the help of my community, friends, and family, I was able to get the majority of it back within a month to continue my journey.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a full-time streamer/content creator on Facebook Gaming. I am known as Facebook Gaming’s Pokémon Queen. I am currently most proud of my success on Facebook with my growth over the past two years and the consistency of my content. I feel as if I stand out on Facebook from others with my high-energy streams and content. I am also the only female to excel in Pokémon on the platform! I always include my community and show them the utmost love as much as I can.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I am a professional dancer, beginner martial artist, and part-time cosplayer!
