Today we’d like to introduce you to Kathleen Reeder.
Hi Kathleen, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Justin and I opened our business in November of 2002. We wanted to provide Concord and surrounding communities with jewelry supplies, classes, beads and gifts! We are a full service jewelry/ bead supply and custom design jewelry shop and we manufacture jewelry as well!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We have had several struggles during this business journey. Each and every struggle has made us better with business, watching our debt and teach us to pivot, grow and learn to provide our clients with great beads and jewelry supplies.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We created our BL Designs- Bead Lady Designs after our Article in Our State Magazine. We have been designing jewelry for years, but wanted to have our own line. We use 18k gold plated, sterling silver, platinum plated findings and use gemstones, crystal , pearl and cotton pearls our jewelry. We are inspired by many factors.
I would say we are most proud of still being in business since 2002! What sets us apart from others is we hand craft each pc of jewelry in our retail/ manufacturing store.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love that our city still has a hometown feel even when it is continually growing new businesses and new people moving in our sweet town.
