Hi Kalyn, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have always had a strong passion for helping others, especially the cute cuddly pets. My love for animals began as a little farm girl in northwest Mississippi. I grew up caring for them daily, but my passion for spreadsheets and crunching numbers grew in college. I found my calling in accounting, but my purpose in the field was lacking. After several years in standard nine to five jobs, I decided to take a chance an create the business that would allow me to care for my family and help other small business owners thrive. I never knew that an entrepreneurial path was an option for my line of work, until I connected with the online world of bookkeepers. If they could do it, so could I!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not, owning a business is HARD! Starting out, you have to wear all the hats of business. From sales to operations to processes and administration, there is a steep learning curve to owning and running your own business. AND I went to business school…. Knowing what you need to do and implementing those things are two totally different skill sets. It takes practice, patience, and a whole lot of love to learn and grow any business. I still struggle to believe in myself, but I have to remember why I am doing this in the first place. It has not been an easy venture, but it is so worth it! I get to wake up every morning and enjoy what I do.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I believe the financial/accounting industry is moving toward small business owners. People such as myself have worked tirelessly in a corporate setting and the mental toll that it takes on us isn’t worth it. We are ditching the traditional nine to five and paving a new path to help other small businesses just like us.
