Matt, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born in Birmingham in the UK, and my wife and I moved to Smithfield in the early 2000s.
My earliest positions were in sales, where I discovered how much I love helping people.
I became a licensed Realtor when I relocated to North Carolina, but I chose to change
careers and take on a new challenge in the late 2000s due to the economic crisis.
Thanks to an inspirational instructor at the Johnston County Community College, I found my calling in website development and design. I took every class available and learned everything I could in class before switching to online learning and studying. I think that you must enjoy what you are doing in order to succeed, and I have a passion for website design!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Going back to college as a mature student was very intimidating and challenging. As it happened, I was a natural!
In addition, I had never launched my own company before. The Johnston County Small Business Center provided me with a wealth of excellent advice. They taught me how to do things correctly, and that was really beneficial.
