Today we’d like to introduce you to Raven Coleman. She shares her team and their story with us below:
Raven Coleman is the Owner of 4C: Central Carolina Cleaning Company Inc. and brings nearly 20 years of Criminal Justice and industry-related experience. She was a former EMT in the US Air Force, possesses a Master’s Degree in Justice Administration, and has hands on work experience in forensic and death investigations. Raven also holds a certificate in OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) compliance. Raven Coleman started 4C as a way to use her knowledge and expertise in the fields of criminology and forensics to help the people of North Carolina. The original thought process of this business came when she was in high school and was doing a ride-along with the Kansas City Police Dept. and saw a deceased body at a local business and wondered “who was going to clean up the mess?” It wasn’t until many years later that she and 1st business partner was talking at work about starting this business and so it was born.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The biggest struggle is finding good and reliable people to work. This is not a field/job for everyone yet the personnel aspect of the business is the most challenging.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about 4C: Central Carolina Cleaning Company Inc. & Final Passage Transport?
Established in 2015, 4C: Central Carolina Cleaning Company is a specialized bioremediation/crime scene/trauma and decontamination cleaning company. Our transportation division is a subsidiary of the parent company and operates under the name Final Passage Transport, which is an end-of-life body removal and mortuary transport service with locations both in Durham and now Kansas City, Missouri (July 1st, 2021). Some biohazard businesses try to intimidate their clients with excessive equipment and unfounded “data”. Don’t fall for their sky-high prices. 4C is compassionate, honest, and affordable. We educate our families throughout the entire process. My staff is highly trained to deal with issues that arise from blood/body fluids to decomposition, hoarder or gross filth cleanup, clandestine labs and COVID exposures. The goal of any cleanup is to return the affected area back to pre-incident state. When dealing with transport, we are discreet and caring and take pride in being responsible for the care, removal and transport of a loved one. We establish professional networking relationships with funeral homes, medical examiners/coroners, hospitals, nursing homes and airports.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
As ironic as it may seem, I don’t mind the exposures that come with this job, however, I can not stand the sight of my own blood. I might have been in high school and went to donate blood. I saw all that blood filling that bag and I passed straight out. My dad teased me for quite some time and questioned this chosen path considering the nature of that event.
