Today we’d like to introduce you to Anai Gonzalez Rivas.
Hi Anai, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hola,
Some years ago, I made one of the most important decisions of my life: to leave my career as an engineer and dedicate myself to yoga and soul-led service.
There was a time in my life when everything looked “successful”… on the outside. I led projects in a large corporation, managing resources, deadlines, and targets. I was productive, efficient, —and deeply disconnected from myself. Something inside me was quietly whispering, there must be more than this. That’s when I began to listen…
Yoga entered my life like a gentle wave. At first, it was just movement—an hour to breathe and stretch… But soon, it became the mirror that reflected everything I had forgotten: my inner rhythm, my essence, and my truth.
The deeper I went, the more I remembered who I was before the world told me who I should be. So I made the radical decision to change course. I stepped off the corporate ladder and began walking barefoot toward something more sacred —a life of presence, purpose, and awakening.
My path has been a return to the heart—I’ve discovered that the more I listen to my inner voice, the more abundance flows into my life.
As a yoga teacher, I offer not just postures or practices, but invitations — to feel, to surrender, to reconnect. Because I believe that within each of us is a hidden gem, beneath layers of doing, performing, and surviving. And when we slow down enough to listen… we find our true self.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it definitely hasn’t been an easy path!
Leaving behind a structured life as an engineer to step into the unknown felt like letting go of the ground without knowing if my wings would open.
The hardest part wasn’t changing careers—it was the journey inward. Facing my fears, other’s expectations, and my own need for control. Learning to sit in silence. To listen to my body. To trust the invisible.
I had to stop looking outside and start turning inward.
Yoga didn’t just teach me how to breathe —it taught me how to reconnect. It opened the path to heal from the roots. It brought back parts of me I had lost in the noise and rush of life.
It’s been a 15-year journey filled with fear, doubt, and profound transformation. But without a doubt, I would walk it all over again. Because despite the challenges, this path has given me the most meaningful gifts: connection, healing, purpose, and a return to my true self.
And if my experience can remind even one person that it’s never too late to come home — to yourself —then every step was worth it.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a yoga teacher, and what sets me apart, is my Mexican essence —I carry within me a deep connection to the ancestral…Each class is a ritual.
I share from my own experience, creating spaces where people can reconnect with their bodies, their energy, and their essence through conscious movement, breath, and sound.
“I believe people connect with the honesty behind what I share.”
I’m proud of having had the courage to let go of the life I thought I should live… in order to find my way back to myself.
Thank you to those who lovingly support me every step of the way —my parents, my brother, and my life partner. This path belongs to you as well!
And I’m deeply grateful to all those who have walked and continue to walk alongside me on this journey of growth. Every step with you has been guidance, reflection, and a blessing.
Grateful for this space —May we all keep finding our own way🙏🏽
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What I love about this city is the connection to nature and the energy it holds…
If there’s one thing I like less, it’s how the city around us keeps building up, sometimes forgetting to root down and stay connected to what truly matters.
