Conversations with Genesis McKellar

Today we’d like to introduce you to Genesis McKellar.

Hi Genesis, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.

Sure! I am actually originally from Greensboro, NC. Upon graduating from Elon University, I traveled through a few different states before my husband and I settled down in Raleigh last year.

I have always been passionate about hair and fashion, but my story really began after I had my first child. Becoming a mom is an experience unlike any other, and has definitely added a layer of authenticity and understanding to my content, my lifestyle, and perspective on life!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?

I think there are always obstacles ahead when you choose to follow something you are passionate about. Even before I had the opportunity to become a stay-at-home mom, I wanted to launch my blog – but didn’t do it out of fear. I think everyone struggles with the “faith or fear” decision when stepping into new territory. I finally decided to go for it, and I am amazed at how much it has grown, and the friendships and partnerships I have been graced with along the way.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?

I am a wife, full-time mom, fashion and beauty blogger, and online boutique owner. I create content surrounding women’s midsize style, beauty tips, and hacks for new motherhood.
