Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Miller.
Hi Hannah, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I have always loved makeup and beauty; it’s been a passion of mine for a long time. I started to get eyelash extensions and when I learned I could make it into a business, it sparked for me that this is what I wanted to do with my life. I went to esthetician school and the rest is history!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Opening a business and pursuing your dreams always put bumps in your path. The school that I chose to go to school for aesthetic before ended up closing down about two months before I was meant to graduate. I had worked for six months at this and was ready to start my new life as an aesthetician and I found myself not being able to complete the program due to the amount of issues that the school did have. They did end up shutting down our program and I was having to go somewhere else. I was blessed enough to find somewhere that would be able to take me and let me finish out the rest of my term without having to completely start over the program. This was a huge blessing for me because if not, I don’t know if I would have been able To start over completely.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in skincare and make-up and waxing. I’ve honestly been the most proud of how my makeup application has improved. This is something that I had always focused on with myself and I have grown tremendously as makeup artist and I am so proud of the work I have done and how far I have come.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
The beauty industry is something that will always be changing they’re always going to be different techniques, new equipment, new styles and trends that are popular. However, being a licensed aesthetician I have the training to be able to have the base knowledge of a lot of stuff and continuing education classes are honestly the best thing to learn and grow. The base foundation is the most important first step, however. I definitely see a lot more changes coming with technology, how facials are given and the different ways that we are able to advance skin cleaning. Whether that is derma planing or micro dermabrasion. Also make up just like fashion is forever changing and will always have a different seasons of what is popular.
