Conversations with Lamont “Lp” Pettiway

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lamont “Lp” Pettiway.

Hi Lamont, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started off wanting to try something new and tried my hand at modeling and acting. After years of doing events and shows, I wanted more and started working at the company that started me out. I became an instructor and began a new route in the form of teaching. After four years, I decided I wanted my own thing. I left there and started my own business and started doing my own events. I did Fashion shows, live music events, and more. I enjoyed working with a variety of people and talents. I did this for about ten years. Soon I was hit with the change bug and wanted to do more. I was back in school for IT so on the side, I picked up a camera and started learning photography. It was for fun at first but quickly found a love for it. Before I knew it, I had my own studio and it became my full-time job. I love to create and with photography, I get to create all kinds of things. I also still do events as well and did my very first Art Show recently showing off my work. I continue to grow and learn new things everyday to better myself and help others.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Life is full of struggles, my biggest one was losing my Mom to Alzheimer’s. She was always my biggest supporter in everything I did so losing that was not easy. I have often been doubted so I had to get used to doing things for myself and not caring what others thought.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am now a full-time photographer so I create portraits, toy photography, and more. I am also known for training models and doing events like Fashion shows and live music events. I also have a Talk show and an Author. I am proud of everything I have done. Every single thing has been a journey and a great achievement.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I will always work hard to achieve my goals and stay positive the entire time.
