Today we’d like to introduce you to Micah Beachy.
Hi Micah, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
In my five years working in the corporate world, I have worn a variety of hats, but none fit me as well as social media and brand content strategy. I have worked as an Assistant, an Office Manager and climbed my way up the business ladder to eventually become a Social Media and Marketing Director. In this role, I found my love for all things social media and decided to specialize as a Social Media Strategist. I started M Creative Society because I want to help boss babes put a little something extra into their brand and social strategy. One of the things that is super important to me is supporting other fempreneurs thrive. In May, I welcomed my first client to M Creative Society and am currently accepting new clients for August 2021. With a Master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications, a certification in Facebook Blueprint, and an endless amount of creative solutions for your brand – I am your gal for revitalizing your business and making it stand out.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When the pandemic hit, I was working for a student housing company. In September, due to the pandemic, the company did not meet budgeted occupancy and because of this, the company laid off the majority of the corporate team. It was the first time that I have ever “lost” a job – even though truly, I did not “lose” it. I did not like feeling powerless so I began dreaming up M Creative Society – a place where I have the reins. I was working on my Master’s degree and did not have the time or energy that goes into starting a business. Each month, I had milestones I wanted to complete: choosing the name, the color palette, branding, what tone of voice I would take, and I would check those boxes knowing I was working my way towards my dream. I am proud to be where I am today.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My specialization is social and digital strategy. I love deep diving into a brand and finding ways to help better connect them with their audience. I look at brands like personalities and by doing so, it helps establish an authentic tone. I am a big advocate for user-generated content, so I also help match brands with influencers. Some of the other services I offer are branding packages, marketing collateral, product photography, and copywriting.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory was Christmas time just about every year. My family is big on traditions and so we always kick off the holiday season by going to the tree lighting in my hometown on Black Friday. The whole month of December had different events sprinkled in like going to the Christmas Tree Farm and chopping down a tree ourselves. Driving through the neighborhoods and seeing the houses all lit up. Then on Christmas Eve, my mom always read Twas The Night Before Christmas, helped us leave milk and cookies for Santa, and carrots for the reindeer, too. My family always made Christmas time feel like magic.
