Hi Ebonie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My business started in February 2021. But I owned my business since November of 2020. I random came up with the idea of starting a business while going back to school to be an Optician. I couldn’t do both at the same time so I just took a leap out on faith and became a business owner. Getting to closer to God and being true to myself made me become closer to a vision that I pictured for myself and my kids. I came up with the name Beautopia Cosmetics of just thinking of a way to express beauty in all different forms.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has been rough at first. Just starting off, you have to build your customers and followers up on social media. Also taking the time to get your business out there.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am the photographer, CEO, marketer, and basically everything in my business. I specialize in everything but I’m known for my beauty products that I sell. I am proud of being a business owner, wife, mother, and employee at Walmart. What sets me apart from others is I am a hard-working woman, that is determined to do everything I can to get where I need to be.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I had my family and husband that has pushed me to get to where I am. They have all helped me getting items for my business. My sister helped me sell my products at my very first pop-up shop event. She also advertises my products. My husband has been making sure I’m on top of what I need to do and making sure I get sales. My mother passed out my business cards to spread the word about my business.
