Today we’d like to introduce you to Aletia Ferreira.

Hi Aletia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
The perpetual rollercoaster of seeking new experiences that include expanding my horizons guided me from the rust-colored and earthy air of the southernmost tip of Africa to the exhilarating smells and bursting colors of the East Coast of the United States. My daydreams as a young child in South Africa propelled me to carve my own journey like one of the great explorers by packing my bags, hugging my family, and leaving everything I knew as my home and my heart to go forth and forge my unknown and exciting future.

My excitement for learning new things was the catalyst that kept me afloat through my journey of being a young immigrant and all the newness of the many experiences I had to unravel. One of the most valuable lessons I learned while living the dream I had created was that I could find a solution for every problem that stumbled with herculean force onto my path. So, I built a business from the very unstable ground I found myself on and shaped it into a vessel that raised my kids, fed multiple families, and brought joy and beauty to thousands around the world in the form of sequins tulle, and chiffon on tutus.

The hard work of building a business turned into fortune and allowed me more than two decades of intense problem solving to become who I am at my core. But after I sold the brand, I was looking for my next project and with some luck, I stumbled into the insurance industry. I have found that here I am able to not only be a “problem solver” but also make a substantial difference in someone else’s life.

I enjoy listening to the story of each of my clients and together, we are able to paint a picture of security for their future life. I feel that my skill set is uniquely tailored to unraveling the many options of products and choosing the most appropriate option to match the challenges that each individual’s life presents. Understanding a “big picture view”, using the problem-solving techniques I acquired over many years, and listening with an empathetic ear to each client’s needs, help me to shape the future of many.

I believe that where there is a will there’s a way, and somehow hardships, hard work, and intense perseverance go hand in hand. All the many skills I acquired on my exciting journey from continent to continent helped me to understand that planning for the next event is the most valuable gift we can give ourselves and our families. Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Life inevitably is not a smooth road. The only constant we all can rely on is that change will grace us with her presence in her often unwanting ways.

I think that when change rolls along, we need to embrace it, and like a canoe on a river, we should float forward gathering the nuggets we need to get us to higher ground. Then enjoy for a little while where we are before the next wave of change swoops in and takes us with it again.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I help people plan for their future. I always say like Thomas Edison “Good fortune is what happens when opportunity meets with planning.” I help clients analyze where the most immediate need is for planning, help navigate what products might be available for that specific need until the next phase of their lives rolls around.

I help people with anything from dental insurance to health insurance, from life insurance and mortgage protection to Medicare and Home Health Care options. Once they are ready to think about retirement planning, we step in and give them options to be able to grow their savings or find options for creating tax-free retirement income.

What sets us apart is that we continually check in with our clients and because we work with over 150 different carriers, we are able to effectively analyze and advise about multiple different options that are available to them. When you work with us, it feels like you’ve known us all your life and that we advise our clients the way we would advise our own family members.

We are not only in the business of helping people secure their life in the most effective way but also educate people about options that they have to accomplish the goals for their life.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Never do we imagine that a global event would unify us in humankind, but we have all been touched by this experience. My view on life was confirmed with the onset of COVID-19 in that we never know what is just around the corner. The good, the bad, and the ugly. But again, the constant in life certainly is change and we all have had to adapt to our new normal.

This experience has been a slow-down affirmation and intense seeking for that which is really important to me in this relatively short life on earth. I have certainly enjoyed my surroundings, my family, nature and simply being a human being on our beautiful planet for a little while. I hope to cling to that feeling of belonging to nature and to remember that what is today will not be so tomorrow, whether it is a good experience, bad or sad. We all need to revel in the now a bit and celebrate the time we are given.
