Hi Callie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Callie Murray was born and raised in Charlotte, NC. Callie began her career journey in the restaurant industry as a Hostess, Server, and Trainer through college. Murray used her restaurant experience and bachelor’s degree to work in corporate marketing for various local restaurant groups. Callie left the corporate hospitality world and focused on freelance marketing consulting and fractional Director of Marketing work when she had her son in 2022. From there, small B2B business found her by surprise to be another career interest. Callie recently served as a remote Chief Operating Officer and Director of Sales & Marketing at a small business headquartered in Edina, Minnesota. After her 2nd son was born in October 2024, Callie decided to take a leap of faith and officially started Wade-Murray Consulting, LLC, where she is a Fractional Marketing Leader & Consultant. Callie now partners with multiple clients in NC, VA, and TN, mostly from home, with the occasional client onsite visit.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Two of my career shifts were because of surprise layoffs. Marketing is surprisingly a difficult profession when it comes to longevity and loyalty. There will always be someone younger and cheaper. One of the two layoffs was when I had returned from maternity leave after my first born and I trained an entry-level position to keep things moving. What I didn’t know at the time is I was training my cheaper replacement. The second layoff was a purely financial decision where the economy and AI hit hard in that particular industry. Unfortunately, this layoff was actually during my second maternity leave.
I am a woman of faith and trust in The Lord, and I knew it was all happening for a reason. I have now found my calling in fractional and consulting work, where I can make my own schedule, take on clients as time allows, while also being more involved with my two boys’ lives. They are 1 and 3 so when they get a bit older, I will be able to possibly scale or work full-time with my business. For right now, the bumpy road has led me to balance and joy in my personal and professional life.

Wade-Murray Consulting specializes in marketing for restaurants and small businesses. We focus on fractional leadership and brand development to enhance your marketing strategies through marketing consulting.
My approach is VERY hands-on and dedicated, ensuring that every step with my clients is taken together, is purposeful, and aligned with their vision. I genuinely want to learn about their business and explore how to achieve remarkable results. I leverage my proven internal business success as an “external” partner to my clients’ businesses. I offer tailored strategies and solutions aligning with their unique business needs. I like to consider myself more than just a marketing consultant, but I’m also not an agency. My success in Fractional Marketing Leadership and Marketing Consulting comes from building strong, collaborative relationships with my clients. I believe in truly becoming a part of their team so I can work side by side with them and their partners.
Services I am known for include Fractional Marketing Leadership (CMO or Director level), Marketing Consulting, Team Member Mentorship, Branding/Re-branding Consulting and Project management, Leave of Absence Coverage, and Recruiting & Training Marketing team members. I partner with as little as 1 hour a week consulting, up to 10 hours per week Fractional work when time allows.
