Exploring Life & Business with Keosha Joyce of Enchanting Events & Designs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keosha Joyce. 

Hi Keosha, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story? 

I was introduced to the world of weddings at a young age. My aunt and mom owned a bridal dress boutique, and I spent many weekends with brides trying to find the perfect dress! I loved the wedding industry so much, that I began planning weddings and other social events informally. I never considered event planning to be a potential career at that time. While preparing for my own wedding, I was let down by many of the people who were supposed to be a part of my planning support system. Although my wedding was a success, I realized then that I would never want another bride to experience the stress I did planning my own wedding. That’s when I decided I wanted to make a career of helping others have a stress-free planning experience. I launched Enchanting Events & Designs in 2015 and I’ve creating stress-free experiences ever since! 

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way? 

There have definitely been a few bumps along the way! The very first struggle came within the first few months of starting the company. I executed the first event as Enchanting Events in May 2015. One week later, my husband and I found out we were expecting our first child! Instead of taking a leap into wedding planning full time, I still worked a demanding 9-5 career. Trying to juggle being a new entrepreneur, new mom and employee was exhausting, to say the least. Now that Enchanting Events is 6 years old, I’ve learned to appreciate those tough days during our first year. If I could handle wearing all of those hats at once, I can handle whatever else that comes my way! 

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Enchanting Events & Designs? 

Our company is a full-service wedding and event planning company based in Durham, North Carolina. We specialize in creating unique events catered to our client’s vision, budget, and style. We work on the premise that even though the event will only last one day or weekend, those memories will last an entire lifetime! We want our clients, their guests, and the wedding professionals we partner with to think back on that event with joy. 

Our process begins by having a meet and greet with our clients to get to know them–both individually and as a couple. Full-Service wedding planning typically lasts 1 year or more—so it is imperative that we know as much as we can about our clients. We also discuss the couple’s vision and budget for their big day. From there, it is off to the races! Throughout our time working together, we cover every event detail even if it’s as small as choosing lavender or lilac. If it’s important to you, it’s important to our team! 

We offer Full and Partial planning, Month of Coordination, and Design services for weddings and other social events. We would love to help create your magical event! 

How do you think about happiness? 

Besides wedding cake (lol), spending time with my family truly makes me happy. From watching Netflix and baking homemade cookies together to traveling for new adventures, spending quality time with my husband and daughter is my happy place!
