When we started in 2018, it was just a small operation out of an apartment in Durham, NC, selling furniture and home goods. The goal was simple: offer quality pieces at prices people could actually afford. It began with a passion for helping folks in the RDU area furnish their homes without breaking the bank. Word spread, and over time, we grew—expanding our reach to thousands of customers across North Carolina and neighboring states. Today, we’re proud to have built a business that’s not just about selling furniture but about creating homes and building trust with our community, one piece at a time
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been a rewarding journey, but far from a smooth ride. We kicked things off in 2018, selling furniture out of a cramped apartment in Durham, NC, with a mission to provide quality pieces at affordable prices. Space was our first big hurdle—fitting inventory into an apartment was like playing furniture Tetris! Six months in, we rented our first storage unit to keep up with demand. That quickly grew to two units, then five, as our customer base expanded across the RDU area and neighboring states. Each step brought new challenges: managing inventory across multiple locations, navigating supply chain hiccups, and building trust as a small player in a crowded market. Scaling up wasn’t easy—sourcing consistent, high-quality furniture while keeping costs low took a lot of trial and error. There were late nights and moments of doubt, especially when demand spiked or logistics got messy. But those struggles pushed us to streamline operations and strengthen our supplier and customer relationships. Today, we’re proud to operate out of a 16,000-square-foot retail space, serving thousands with furniture that helps turn houses into homes.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of my favorite childhood memories takes me back to growing up in Hanoi, Vietnam, lying on the rooftop of our home at night, staring up at the stars. I was obsessed with the universe—space travel, black holes, the mysteries of physics. I’d spend hours imagining myself as an astronaut exploring distant galaxies or a scientist unraveling the secrets of the cosmos. I’d sketch spaceships and dream up wild theories about how the universe worked, inspired by books and old sci-fi shows I could get my hands on. Those moments of wonder, just me and the night sky, sparked a lifelong curiosity about what’s out there. It’s a memory that still feels alive, reminding me how a kid’s imagination can reach for the stars
