Hi Cherish, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I became an esthetician in 2015, during my education enjoyed all services but was super intrigued by lash extensions. Immediately began working for corporate lash franchises for the next 5 years, which pushed me to go do it my way. I wanted to be able to take my time to curate perfect lash lines, build stronger relationships with my clients, and give my clients a personal experience from beginning to end of service. I knew that I had to take the leap of faith to start my own business and once the pandemic was over, I was afforded the right opportunities to make it happen.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No it has not been a smooth road, but I can say that it has been worth it. I knew very little about business and what it actually took to run one. I struggled a lot with the confidence it took to put myself and my business out for the world to see. Social media was my biggest hurdle and I felt intimidated to post. It was scary to post and wait for the “likes” and “comments”. Thankfully, I had support in those areas to help guide and encourage me through it.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
CherryHead Beauty is a premier lash studio that caters to each client’s lashes. I specialize in hybrid and volume lash extensions. My lash extensions can look as subtle and natural, or long and voluminous as your heart desires. Having a variety of clientele allows me to play around with more color, tinsel, glitter, and decals which can add a little extra customization to any lash line. I am proud to provide a space where clients can walk in for a lash service but leave feeling beautiful rested and ready for anything with a perfect set of lashes. I also offer brow services as well.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
You just have to be willing to put yourself out there. Be open to asking for help and receiving feedback.
