Today we’d like to introduce you to Dennis Bucher.
Hi Dennis, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I bought a 9 acre farm in 2017. I have a small collection of vehicles that I wanted to store in one spot so I built a 40 x 60 building. When the country was shut down by the virus and most venues were closed, I was asked by a group if they could use my building for their monthly breakfast meeting. That was the beginning of several other organizations to ask to use it also. I added heating and air conditioning and a business began. Since that time we have hosted a number of events, including Christmas parties, fund raisers, retirement parties, birthday parties, and weddings. We have also purchased and moved and renovated a small farmhouse to the property which functions as an Airbnb. For events like weddings, it serves as a place for brides to dress and in some cases, the bride and groom spend the night there after the wedding.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The struggles have mostly been the amount of money we have invested to get the property to its current state. Getting the word out has also been a challenge. We are using Facebook and we have a professionally prepared website.
We’ve been impressed with The Farm at Antioch , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are an LLC owned by my wife Diann and me.
What sets our business apart is its rural farm setting which is beautiful.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Support us by spreading the word that our venue is beautiful and affordable.
