Hi Syreeta, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
For as long as I can remember, I have loved all things design. I get so much joy out of taking ordinary spaces and adding personality to them. For years people suggested I should turn my passion into a business but it took me a while to gain the confidence in myself that others already had in me. After building my first home and having the opportunity to turn a fully blank canvas into so many spaces that were a true representation of me, I knew I wanted to help others take the right risks to bring out their personality and give them authentically personal spaces that made their houses fell like home.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I have defiantly faced challenges along the way. The biggest hurdle for me has likely been my kind heart. I have found myself on many occasions not making a profit from projects to ensure the client was completely satisfied even when they had exhausted their budget.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
The love operating business in the Raleigh/Durham area because of both its size and diversity. There is a huge mixture of home styles and cultures in this area which provides endless design opportunities. The disadvantage to working in a metropolitan area of this size is the competition but that for me is more of a motivator than it is a negative. Having so many peers doing amazing design work forces me to keep learning and developing my skills.
