Today we’d like to introduce you to Cameshia Gavin.
Hi Cameshia, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
It all started back in 2016, and I had just completed my master’s degree in financial planning. I was working at a large wealth management firm in Raleigh as a financial advisor’s assistant. It was an effortless job that consisted of carrying out admin tasks for an advisor to help his practice run as smoothly as possible- I was the brain to his practice pretty much. I did not have much interaction with his clients and sat behind a computer all day. Life was very easygoing. After about a year of working with him, I soon realized I was not being challenged enough and knew I could never settle there and certainly had no desire to level up within the company- I was miserable.
Said, I prayed and asked God for direction to lead me into my purpose, and I ended up in a real estate class twice a week after my full-time job. It was a three-month course that took a lot of dedication and focus. It was the hardest schooling I had experienced, but I passed it on the first go-round. I got licensed in November 2017 and started practicing real estate part-time in January 2018.
In March of 2018, I had two clients who wanted to purchase a home in less than three months’ time frame. Here I was trying to juggle working full time and service these clients to find their perfect home. It wasn’t easy by any means, but I decided in May 2018, it was time for me to take a HUGE leap of faith. I left my full-time job with two clients under contract to purchase their homes and was determined those two paychecks would hold me over for a good three months.
From May 2018, my business has grown exponentially over these last three years. Here I am now a single agent building my own business and team, CC & Co. Real Estate, closing out 2020 with nearly $5 million in sales volume and to date $6.4 million and counting. It has taken many long nights, headaches, happy times,s and determination to get here, but that has only motivated me to go bigger and harder. I have an amazing support team; my husband and my amazing family and friends believe in me and always root for me. I wouldn’t be here without them and certainly not without that amazing man upstairs! I am blessed!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Oh boy- absolutely not. We all know anything worth having doesn’t come easy. Real estate is ever-changing, and it causes many bumps along the road, but with the right practices and systems in place, I am always learning to overcome and grow from them.
