Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Bailey.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
We originally started our business in Alaska. My husband and myself built it from the ground up with a whole lot of faith and hardwork. Both of us were born and raised in Alaska and after a few years in business there we decided we were ready for a change. My husband has family in North Carolina so we decided to make the move across the country. We researched the area and decided the Raleigh area would be the best bet for our business. Once we settled in we once again built our business from the ground up. This time with more experience but still a whole lot of faith and hardwork. Working for ourselves gives us the freedom we like and need to be there for our kids.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Working for yourself is never a smooth road. It takes a lot of faith, risk, and perseverance. We have our slow and busy season just like most businesses do. We were fortunate enough to find some good business coaches and community along the way to help guide us throughout our journey. The Raleigh area is a huge area so it’s a competitive market we are in. I would say marketing plays a major role in the success of your business. You also work a lot harder for yourself then if you were working for someone else. Its up to you if you make it or not. When running a business you get what you put in. What you do today will set you up for your future.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Baileys Remodeling LLC?
We are Bailey’s Remodeling llc DBA Baileys Kitchen and Bathroom Remodeling. We specialize in kitchen and bathroom remodeling with an emphasis on tile work. Being a small locally owned and operated business it sets us apart from larger companies where most customers don’t even get to speak to the owner of the business we are very involved and meet face to face with every customer. We very much prioritize every job. Its important to us to give each customer the attention their job deserves. We have been very fortunate to have very good customers. We understand the level of trust each customer puts in us while allowing us to work in their home and we don’t take that lightly. Our work speaks for itself. Our customers are what keep us in business, excellent customer service and quality work is what we strive for.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Big risks can come with big rewards. When we started our business both times it was a risk. The first time we started our business in Alaska with no savings and a huge leap of faith. It paid off in the best way possible. Then once again when we moved to the Raleigh area in 2022 that was another risk starting our business from the ground up with no customer base all while depending upon that income to survive. There’s something to be said about a person who continues to strive to build their business all while depending on that income to live. So yes I would consider myself a risk taker. Any business owner or entrepreneur would be as well to
some degree. But by taking these kinds of risks it has allowed us to have a level of freedom that someone who works a regular 9-5 might not have. I get to spend time with my kids during the day, we also homeschool 2 of them which I wouldn’t be able to do if I had another type of job. It gives us flexibility in our schedule that is priceless.
