Today we’d like to introduce you to Jami Amidon.

Jami, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started in the industry as a lender in 2001 and quickly created a top producing team. I have now seen three of the craziest markets ever! This business keeps me growing in so many ways.

Home and everything about home has always been a love for me. Inside of real estate, I am able to fulfill on my passion to guide people to spaces that will bring joy to their daily lives. Now more than ever, it’s clear our homes are so very central and important to the quality of our lives. Your home is your nest, your refuge, your nurturing place to relax and just be yourself, living your best life.

I moved to the beautiful Raleigh, NC area six years ago simply because we wanted to enjoy all 4 seasons, the friendliness of the people, and the close proximity to everything we love to do, the beach and the mountains are a short day trip. This has been a great move for us and the process of creating another top producing business in a location I love is completely fulfilling.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I don’t think owning your own business is ever a smooth road no matter the growth trajectory or industry. After 30+ years in business, in addition to a full commitment to real estate, I coach, on a limited referral basis, other business owners along their success journey and have yet to hear of one that was a smooth ride.

Creating systems and structure is a key component to smoothing out the wrinkles that come along with entrepreneurship. Real estate is a fast-paced business due to the timelines and all of the people involved in a transaction. Having a system is key to the process. If a business does not have a system, you are closing the door on your success.

It is so very important to have others who have been on the road before you who can share their wisdom and insight. It is equally important to have people, including clients who are in alignment with us- communicative, appreciative, respectful of all parties involved. It makes for a much better outcome. Real estate isn’t about transactions to me. If I reduce myself to operating like a machine, I lose my purpose- which ultimately is people are connected to what they love and are passionate about.

The lack of inventory in our area is a huge challenge today. I am grateful to have clients who listen to my advice, agents on the other side of the transaction who guide their clients to create win-win as much as possible, and a team of people behind me who are committed to serving our clients as best as we can.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I have become a relocation specialist mostly because of my interest in helping people move to a new community. Big location changes are tough. I have studied human nature for years and have lots of tools to use when the process gets uncomfortable. Face it, our brain wants us to keep things as they are and a move is opposite of that!

People call me from all over the country to help them find their home. I also connect my clients to best agents in other parts of the country when I sell their homes here in the Raleigh area. Referrals are a huge part of my business, incoming and outgoing. I network with top producing agents across the nation on a daily basis. I have a strong team of people behind me to support my clients as if they are the only one. It is important to me my clients have a luxury experience no matter what the price point.
