Life & Work with Adina Sylver

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adina Sylver.

Hi Adina, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I have been in the hair industry for 20 years as a stylist and then a salon owner. In my childhood, I always gravitated to being an entrepreneur and not just selling but interacting with people. It has always been about helping people feel better and satisfied with themselves. I know firsthand how esteem and your personal outlook can be a factor in the operation of our daily lives. Over the years in the industry, I have made a strong attempt on building a business, a brand, and getting customers focused. Every stage of the business has been about how I can serve better. Each business decision has been about the customer first. How would the customer benefit from the direction of the business. I truly believe that because of being customer-focused it has made an impact on customer loyalty and the longevity of the business throughout the years. Because I have always been a creative person, that particular business has branched out into other businesses and expressions of creativity such as fashion shows, custom t-shirts, jewelry and about anything that represented the brand of the business. Now, I have progressed forcefully due to Covid and just a desire to help other entrepreneur of any facet to build a brand and market the business both in-person and digitally.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Every entrepreneur has endured some type of challenge whether it has been business-related or personal. I have had challenges that range from raising capital to expand or grow the business to personal setbacks. As entrepreneurs that are “all-in”, the business affects the personal, and the personal affects the business. Personal challenges like failed relationships, medical issues and the alike can all affect the business. Vice versa if the business is going through challenges such as slow periods, unexpected expenses, and inflation of supplies, it can affect you personally with how you handle the stress of these certain challenges.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a big city lover! I love everything about the city. The people, the food, the architecture, everything! I draw my inspiration from every aspect of the city into each business. I used it to specialize in hair cuts and color, t-shirts design inspired by metro themes, and now in the branding and marketing of businesses.

I’m proud of the impact of feel like I have had on every person I have encountered as an entrepreneur. I have strived to respect and serve every person in the same manner. I have attempted to make everyone know that I appreciate them choosing me to serve them. Above my skill set, I believe that the customer service sets me apart from others.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Business structure is a must. People respect you as a professional in your craft more if you have structure. The structure of the business helps you to maintain efficiency and effectiveness.
