Today we’d like to introduce you to Chaya Udinsky.
Chaya, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started just working in a chain jewelry store to help pay my way through college.
I’ve had several jewelry jobs since then but started working on my credentials for appraising while my son was a baby and have been appraising ever since-my son is now 11. My current business really took off when I moved to the Triangle in 2017.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been a little bumpy. Initially, I struggled with getting enough clients, then I struggled to find an office space that was the right size and budget for my company.
When I got really busy last year, I struggled with finding and adding employees to the mix.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a jewelry appraiser and pearl restringing. I help clients, lawyers, and businesses learn the value of their items and help them sell their items at times.
I am most proud that I’ve helped the State Government of NC value property that has to go to auction. My credentials plus my love for jewelry and helping people sets me apart from others.
What matters most to you? Why?
Honesty and accuracy for my clients so that they know the information I give them is correct.
