Today we’d like to introduce you to Arabia Moore.
Hi Arabia, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started my business a little over a year ago, I was going through a really bad stage in my life I was also pregnant with my son and I just felt like I was failing at life I needed something to help me get through my day something to occupy my mind so I wouldn’t have to think about all of my problems. So, I told myself I was going to start my own small business, I’ve always loved sunglasses so I started with selling those. I used all of my savings to order a few different styles and colors of sunglasses. I waited months so I could get my logo made and everything else I needed to start my business. I would promote and advertise my business on my social media’s and most of my customers were friends, family, a few strangers that seen my posts on my social media. I would meet my customers to exchange what they purchased or sometimes I shipped! The support was unreal I couldn’t believe how good it was going for me and my business. After a few months, I started getting requests for purses, sandals, clothes, and other fashion items. So, I used my profit money to invest back into my business I started ordering a variety of items. I also started going to different events set up a table to sell my items which was a great experience a way to network with different small business owners like myself! March of this year, I was presented the opportunity to actually have a small space to operate my business and of course, I accepted it & I immediately thought back to when I first started my business and needed help, guidance, and support. So, I decided to reach out to small business owners that I knew around the area that would be interested in selling their merchandise in my store as well, I help them promote, we all try to do small events to give back to the community and we work together and build each other up as a team. This is by far the best experience and I’m looking forward to the future to see what else we can accomplish together!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I can’t complain too much. I can say going through a pandemic made it challenging as far as clientele and being able to communicate or interact with others business-wise. Running a small business requires patience and faith! You must be able to trust the process, believe in yourself & stay positive even when things seem to be going downhill you have to keep pushing. Never give up the only way you will lose is if you give up!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Allure Palace would be considered a small boutique. We offer a variety of items for men and women. Such as clothes, shoes, purses, sunglasses, & much more. We also have other small business owners that are working on building their brand that Allure Palace helps, selling their products promoting advertising, etc. I think that alone sets Allure Palace apart from others, in my business there’s no “self“ I don’t only focus on my business I strive to see my whole team grow, profit, & succeed just as much as I do for my own.
How do you define success?
I personally think success is any form of growth & progression. I don’t believe that you have to have money, popularity, or material things to be successful. If you can accomplish something new or even learn something you didn’t know I consider that success!
