Today we’d like to introduce you to Khadejah Durant.
Hi Khadejah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Yes. I fell in love with decorating, design, and helping create beautiful events for people at a young age. My late great-grandmother Rose and my nana, “Rose Maria” were my biggest inspirations. I grew up watching them decorate our homes with the most beautiful interior designs and paid attention to every detail, as well as decorating and facilitating our family events. Which influenced me to create my brand name “RoseeLuxuryDecor aka Roseeluxuries.”
Soon after, I picked up a job a little after college as a front desk agent turned manager at a luxury boutique hotel in Greensboro, NC, where we were often responsible for decorating rooms for guests who requested. For example, A man may check in and say I want to surprise my wife on our anniversary in our Magi Suite, and can I have my room decorated with flowers, etc.” I would go up and set flowers all over the place, turn down service, set mood music, have champagne and glasses presented, bath robes laid in a heart design… you name it and then I would go back downstairs to wait for the guests to arrive for the surprise. Once they would arrive and then go up and see…. they would come back down and thank me, cry, give me huge tips, gifts, etc, and would always say…… “You have truly made our day, or thank you for creating this beautiful experience for us that we will never forget. ”
And that is when I knew this is something I want to do and I love to do.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Just like any other small business, starting it comes with a lot. So far, my biggest lesson was learning to pace myself, not get overwhelmed, and making sure I am putting my best foot forward with every event that I do, and making sure everything is communicated properly.
It’s been nice networking with other established decorators who have complimented me on my work.. Networking with more creatives and small business owners locally who have partnered with me for events, and just truly doing what I love to do.

I am an event decorator. I specialize in event planning and decor, intimate room decorating, balloon arches in all sizes, and custom designs.
I started my business in 2023, honoring the passing of my beautiful grandmother, “Mrs. Rose,” who shared a passion for decorating and bringing people together. She always had an eye for detail when it came to making beautiful arrangements for people, and let’s just say– she passed the button to me when she gained her wings, and I intend to honor it.
I’m proud of the quality work I have put out so far that resonates with my clientele, which I know my nana would be proud of.
I think what sets me apart from everyone else is my unique eye for detail in my work, my networking abilities with other great business owners, and the fact that I care and love what I do. I do it to see that smile on someone’s face and will keep perfecting until I see it.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success as — If you are passionate about doing something and love to do it then you where meant/born to do it and you found your purpose…..And then once you do that, everything “success-wise” will come.
I don’t believe in competing with anyone. Just do YOUR thing and keep perfecting and trusting God’s timing. That sets you apart. That’s the core of true success in my book.
