Meet Skyler Cline of Blue Sky Beauty

Today we’d like to introduce you to Skyler Cline.

Skyler, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I have always loved makeup growing up it has always been my passion, so after trying many different things to find a career path I decided I wanted to become an Esthetician before going to school I wanted to get certified in Lash extensions.

I met with a local Lash Artist who teaches classes and just fell in love. I love how every set is unique and it’s just another thing to add to my skill set. Both makeup and lash extensions help highlight everyone’s natural beauty and make my clients leave feeling so confident and I love being able to provide that.

I have amazing clients and an amazing support system who just help me always get my name out there which is helped me get where I am today.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The has not been easy Covid definitely put my education on hold since they weren’t offering the Esthetician program for a while because of Covid, so I had decided to go to Cosmetology and quickly learned that wasn’t for me, so I had to wait until I found the right school.

I finally have but I had to go on a leave of absence due to my mom becoming sick. I work full-time have a five-year-old and drive two and a half hours to four days a week to go to the chapel hill to make my dreams come true. I know it’s worth it but sometimes it’s not easy.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I currently offer Lash Extensions and I am a freelance makeup artist who works with a lot of the local Boudoir photographers in my area. Both of the services I offer I love doing and am proud of my work. I feel like it’s my job to enhance my client’s natural beauty just highlight what natural features they already have.

I would say my specialty is in Natural makeup and it makes me so happy when I see clients’ faces light up after seeing my work done and they leave feeling confident.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I am a perfectionist which is a blessing and a curse, I will go above and beyond to make sure my clients have exactly what they want, I am always looking for new techniques, so I am constantly learning, practicing all the time using models or on myself, and I put in the work which to me these things have helped me get where I am.
