Rising Stars: Meet Abbey Butler of Benson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Abbey Butler.

Hi Abbey, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I began learning the basics of photography in my early high school years and began photographing school events and close friends. As my skills developed, I became more interested in my work, and I grew a passion for using my talent to benefit others. Now going into my third year at Meredith College, I have gained more support than I ever could have imagined, and I look forward to capturing special moments for everyone in the years to come.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
This journey has been difficult yet rewarding. My greatest struggle has been balancing my business as a full-time college student. I have had to work on my time management skills to reflect the best work in my education and job.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in lifestyle and family photography. I find the most joy in being able to capture every milestone and every stage of life. Whether newborns to college graduates, I am ready to celebrate with you and ensure you have these moments to keep. I am most proud of watching my business grow from the ground up. Although, none of my success would be possible without my amazing client base and support system. I feel that what sets me apart from others is my passion for serving others. This business is more to me than making an income. I strive to use the talent I am given to benefit others. My goal as a photographer is to provide images each client will treasure for a lifetime. I firmly believe everyone should have access to this experience regardless of income. Therefore I offer services within a reasonable and affordable price range.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I could have never gotten to where I am today without the love and support of all those around me. Mary Raynor (Mary Me Photography) and Paige Wrench (Paige Wrench Photography) have been great mentors who have allowed me to work and learn alongside them. I am truly thankful for all they have taught me to get me where I am today.
