Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam & Jocelyn Wigode.
Hi Adam & Jocelyn, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Custom Threadz, LLC is a Small Proud Home Based Business specializing in Full Color Direct to Garment Printing. We started off with nothing more than an idea with passion and drive behind us. We kept seeing printing companies turn away smaller orders because they were too small or not worth the time and wanted to fix that hole in the industry in our area. We met eight years ago while both working for other companies and would constantly talk about starting our own printing company. It was not much more than a thought for four years until we were buying our first house and having our second child. After working for other people for so long we realized we could not only do it ourselves but make a big impact while we did! That’s where Custom Threadz was born and now, four years later, we are doing so much more than we ever thought we would. From printing and supporting local as much as we can, to sitting on a board of a non-profit (Skate4Life) and printing for companies nationwide both big and small! Now starting to open up a new field, with embroidery, we are just expanding even more, this year making the possibilities for us endless!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Smooth and small business do not go hand in hand (haha) and obstacles are just part of the job. One of our biggest struggles, in the beginning, was starting from the ground up with nothing. We had no name or funding behind us, meaning no credibility and no options for lines of finance which lead us going door to door to different local businesses meeting people, shaking hands, and dropping off our business cards (or Business Cloths as we call them) to get our name out there – newborn in tow. Our biggest obstacle to date is the name Direct to Garment printing has in our industry. The misconception that it is only for small batch orders or not up to par with quality (like screen printing) is something we still battle daily as we knock jobs out of the park for our customers. It has most certainly not been the easiest road, but with every bump, we have created a solution to keep persevering through.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We do it all – in-house. There are many T-Shirt services throughout the Triangle area, but We Are Not Them! We take what “custom is” and make it what Custom should be. A Lifestyle. No more screen-printing setup fees, no more minimums, and no more cheaply “printed” shirts. We have No Limitations with color, and we print on it all! Shirts, hats, pants, shorts, leggings, sleeves, onesies, and so much more!! Above and beyond is what we always give Every Customer, Every Time, No Matter the Order. Every Custom Threadz customer is a VIP – or a Thread Head as we like to call ‘em – personal touches on artwork, providing graphics when needed, double-checking every detail, delivering your order, anything we can do to make Living Custom nothing more than what it should be, easy.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, neither of us came from a lot, but both of our parents did what they needed to do. Adam was definitely not the quiet one. Known to talk and do and always be getting into something. Jocelyn on the other hand was raised sheltered and as a middle child, questioned everything. Coming together, we complement each other in each aspect of business (Adam being the face and Jocelyn being more behind the scenes organizing).

The colors and detail in their t-shirts are next level!
Congrats to the young Triangle entrepreneurs!
