Today we’d like to introduce you to Alyssa Ait.
Hi Alyssa, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started working in this industry 16 years ago in a tiny little bucket shop on the coast of California, later moved into another shop and managed it for 7 years. Took a little break from it and jumped back into the deep end and opened my own shop! Both our babies have been raised in our shop. Grateful to be here to leave this legacy for my babies
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Yes! Small businesses have it hard to begin with, toss in COVID and things just got harder. We made it though, so extremely proud we’ve made it this far
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Floristry is such a beautiful art form. It’s very symbolizing to life- the process from seed to death, although quicker than ours, it’s beautiful to watch.
I specialize in installations and weddings, although we do have a brick and mortar when you can walk in and grab a wrap, installs and weddings are where I truly get to have my creative energy flow.
I suppose what sets us apart is our modern spin on floristry. We take chances and thrive off creative freedom!
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I never considered myself lucky, but I would say we’re just so lucky to have landed in such an amazing community who continues to support us!
