Rising Stars: Meet Bobby Waters

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bobby Waters.

Bobby, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I got started in the home improvement industry remodeling my Grandfathers family farmhouse. I enjoyed the challenge so much that I just kept taking on new jobs for family and friends. Eventually, working for other larger companies, I mastered the craft of deck building, replacement roofs, windows, siding, doors, insulation, and crawlspace encapsulation. Finally, I worked up the courage branch out on my own. I started The Remodeling Company and never looked back.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I took my leap of faith during the Covid 19 pandemic! Surprisingly, it was the perfect time to start my company… everybody was home and started noticing all the things about their home that needed to be updated. The timing to be in the home improvement industry was perfect. Now, the hardest part about running the business is getting material and supplies to the job site. Material costs are not only going up but material shortages are also on the rise. Thankfully, our client base have all been more than understanding.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I once heard that the home improvement industry is the nations number one headache. Hardly a week goes by without some contractor landing on the front page of the paper because they got caught stealing, bait and switch, or just simply taking advantage of their clients.

I want to do it different! I want my clients to have a “Disney like experience.” From the point of contact to the cleanup and final balance due… we want our client’s experience to be first class. Our client’s 5 Star experience begins and ends with great communication. That’s what makes us different. Great communication.

Of course, everyone works to earn a living. However, we don’t hire people that just want to make money. We intentionally hire people that want to help us change the industry standard. We proactively address the client experience at every point in the home improvement process.

We don’t want all clients; we want clients that want to be treated with fairly and with respect. Reciprocity, we treat our clients well. In return, our clients treat us well. Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
How do I feel about risk? The only things known are things in the past. The present is chaos. Goals represent our future.

What is known is our track record of success. Our goal is linked in every way to our client’s experience and the client’s goal to improve their home. Therefore, our daily activity is managing the moment by moment activity and daily chaos.

Our clients take a risk when they choose us. We take risks when we accept a client’s home improvement dream. With great communication, we manage the risk together.
