Today we’d like to introduce you to Chana Ricks.
Hi Chana R., so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started out providing mobile services on a limited, part-time basis while operating a nail studio. Eventually, the request for mobile services for a particular demographic increased my business clientele.
The clientele that I began serving were clients who truly needed at-home care due to immobility issues or other health-related issues that prevented them from frequenting traditional salons.
Word of mouth began to spread about the services I offered and eventually, I became more involved with the healthcare community as a referral contact, which ultimately increased my business model even more.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Actually, operating a mobile business is much easier than operating a physical location. Nothing is ever truly easy, but investing in yourself and your business and seeing a return in your business makes it worthwhile.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I work as a mobile Pedicurist in the state of North Carolina. I specialize in advanced Pedicure services for homebound clients.
What I’m most proud of is being able to create a job independently for myself while at the same time being able to provide a service that is greatly accepted and of value to many North Carolina residents.
What sets my business apart from most in my industry is that I bring my services to the client at their convenience.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned along this journey is to advance yourself and learn skills that will increase your knowledge base. It’s also very important to network with the right individuals and to surround yourself with like-minded people.
