Rising Stars: Meet Swanda Warren

Today we’d like to introduce you to Swanda Warren.

Hi Swanda, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am creative.

I am down to earth.

I am bolder than I was yesterday.

I am a Christian woman who respects all views.

I was born and raised in Greenville, NC. I am a graduate of North Carolina Central University (2002), as well as a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where I received my Master’s degree in Leadership in Childhood Education (2017).

I am Swanda Warren, CEO of EARresistible by SwansDesign!

My mission with creating these handmade and one-of-a-kind earrings is to empower women to be bold, own their own uniqueness, and remove the veil of insecurity from their eyes.

EARresistible by SwansDesign was birthed in November of 2018 after coming off a fast with a friend. I wasn’t sure how I was going to conceptualize the revealed idea. I knew I had the gift of creativity, but I wasn’t comfortable with how to create earrings. However, through trial and error, I quickly learned. I get inspiration from EVERYTHING which spills out into my bold and beautiful statement earrings. My designs are from my hEARt to my customer’s EARS!

I am still here today because of GRACE, CONSISTENCY, DETERMINATION, STRATEGY, CREATIVITY, and PIVOTING when necessary.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
All paths lead somewhere but it’s up to the person how they charter their territory and how far they go when to stop when to detour, etc.

Some of my Struggles:
– Finding a target audience
– Being confident in my creativity of earrings (since I am self-taught)
– Photographing earrings was very hard: so the lack of quality product photos
– Not having a website to officially show my designs so I was using Cash App to receive payment
– Covid-19 happened

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My professional life is in the educational arena. I work with teachers, directors of child care programs, principals to help improve quality in their school or child care programs.

I also conduct lots of training to help programs continue with effective professional development.

Creativity is always in use in this area of my professional life.

I am known for my delivery of content, room arrangements, a listening ear, creativity, and my smile!

I work with the youth group at my church who keeps me fluent and trending in issues and topics which help spark my creativity of conversations with them and the creations of statement earrings.

I am definitely a go-getter!

I always work hard and try to find a solution to problems I encounter
