Diamone Ricketts Is Building Freedom, Faith, and Resilience Through Creativity

For Diamone Ricketts, creativity isn’t just self-expression—it’s survival, purpose, and a pathway to independence. From children’s books and branded notebooks to music and entrepreneurship through her verified brand Dynasty Tunes Global, Ricketts has learned to start where she is and build brick by brick. Living with a disability has sharpened her resilience rather than limited her vision, pushing her to advocate for herself, trust her faith, and keep creating even when resources are scarce. Whether she’s songwriting, designing, or dreaming up her next venture, Ricketts’ work is rooted in belief, perseverance, and an open invitation for others to rise with her.

Hi Diamone, thank you so much for taking the time to share your story and creative journey with us. Your drive to build independence through creativity — from writing children’s books to launching brands, products, and music — is incredibly inspiring. Let’s jump right in.
You’ve described creativity as your greatest strength and your path I mainly give it to God for giving me the utensils and skills to create what I made thus far to financial freedom. When did you first realize you could turn your ideas — like books, notebooks, music, and even a shoe line — into real businesses instead of just hobbies? I guess it all started back in college. Sometimes as a freshman I will pull out my phone and just Google search resources. It was informative to just explore ways to draft my creative skills. The ideas came to my head but I didn’t know what to do. The best way I did it was pulling out pen and paper and writing my ideas down and then using my resources with Google. With music it was just really me playing the piano and expressing every emotion, and Sharon get with others. Once I did the piano playing for hours that’s when I knew I could do something with it.

You’re juggling so many ventures at once, from your verified brand Dynasty Tunes Global to a children’s book and now an original R&B song. How do you decide which ideas to pursue first, and what keeps you motivated when progress feels slow or opportunities feel limited?
When it comes to dreams and goals or anything that I have to pursue in life, the way I always have to do it is start where I am, and lay it down brick by brick. Things cost and it’s not easy and having disability that’s affects cognitively can have an effect on you as a person. I have to advocate and navigate all by myself with no support system. It’s true that most people don’t care and it’s definitely true where you can be in a rut and you have to make a move or you’re boat is not going nowhere. Yes I complain but we’re human. But still keep reminding myself there’s something I can do. A lot of people look down to you ,talk down to you and won’t lift a finger. With life, you have to be your own biggest leader, advocate and helper and achiever.

You’ve been open about living with a disability while also refusing to let it define or limit you. How has that experience shaped your resilience and the way you approach entrepreneurship and self-belief?
It shapes me as a human knowing that I have to achieve a purpose in life. Yes, there are going to be times where it’ll just cognitively hit you but the most important thing that matters to me is just living life to the fullest.

Music seems to be a new and exciting chapter for you, especially with your song “Gleams Sneaky Cat.” What does songwriting allow you to express that other creative outlets don’t, and what do you hope listeners feel when they hear your work?
The song clean actually came to me when I was fiddling around with AI just hearing some sample beats. But for the lyrics. I wrote the lyrics single-handedly. It just came to me as I was hearing the music. It may be a short r&b song but I couldn’t believe the lyrics and how dope it was. I’m going to be recording vocals soon so that project is pending.

For other aspiring creators or entrepreneurs who feel overlooked or underestimated, what advice would you share about staying positive, taking ownership of their talents, and continuing to chase big dreams despite the odds?
For those trying to pursue just like me I want to let them know, keep striving and keep swarming like an eagle. Do not give up on your hopes and dreams. I know we’re in a hard times and I am too and just know I am here for you just like a family member. If anyone out there wants to create a streaming team or go viral with me I want them to hear these words “Let’s do it”.
