We’re looking forward to introducing you to Jalen Ventrone. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Jalen , we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
Jalen, im proud to be building myself. Putting in the work everyday that nobody but my animals see.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Jalen Lee; a licensed cosmetologist, serial entrepreneur, and the founder of Raleigh Waxologist, Holistic Harmony, and She Thrives 101 podcast. My work sits at the intersection of beauty, wellness, and empowerment. At Raleigh Waxologist, we specialize in luxury, high-end waxing services that are as fun and cheeky as they are precise and professional. Holistic Harmony is my skin and soul sanctuary, where I offer facials infused with natural, non-toxic Olive Tree People products and intentional wellness practices that nourish from the inside out.
Beyond the salon, I host She Thrives 101, a platform amplifying the voices of women in business, music, and creative industries; showing that success has many faces and stories. What makes my work unique is that everything I do is rooted in authenticity: I’ve built my career by combining my professional expertise with my personal values of clean beauty, community connection, and self-empowerment.
Right now, I’m expanding She Thrives into its next season, growing Holistic Harmony’s reach in downtown Raleigh, and continuing to create spaces, whether in the salon or on the mic — where people feel seen, celebrated, and inspired.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
Probably my mother, she worked her ass off when i was growing up. I often woonder how she worked so hard and had three children.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering has taught me resilience in a way success never could. It’s shown me how to stand on my own two feet, find peace in uncertainty, and keep moving forward when everything feels like it’s falling apart. It’s stripped away the illusions and forced me to discover my own strength, my own voice, and my own worth.. Success can feel like a reward, but suffering teaches you the tools to survive long enough to get there.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say true wellness, and ingrediants in our day to day products and food.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
I truly feel like everything. Everyday im thinking of the BIG picture. My kids day to day, my businesses, my traveling, etc. EVERYTHING I DO TODAY is for 37 year old Jalen and her family.
