Khalia Aimee Kenny shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Khalia Aimee, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
For me it’s integrity, no debate. Intelligence and energy are nice, but without integrity and genuine intent, they don’t mean much. I’d rather deal with honest mistakes than calculated behavior.
Owning actions and communicating clearly can provide so much action and growth. I’ve learned how important effort and accountability are, especially after moments where they were missing.
Integrity is what creates trust and peace for me. I’m a lover girl, so I’m drawn to people who are solid, intentional, and real. When someone moves with integrity, everything feels safer, calmer, and genuinely worth investing in.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m the owner and founder of Ella Allure Skin. I’ve always worked closely with the public as both a Medical Assistant and a Esthetician, which gave me the opportunity to connect with people from all walks of life and understand skincare on a deeper, more personal level.
I originally started Ella Allure Skin in 2020 and officially re-established the brand in September 2025 after needing to pause and reset. Lately, I’ve been focused on showing up more authentically, learning how to share my story through both my brand and my personal presence, which isn’t the easiest thing to do.
Over the past year, I’ve been fortunate to cross paths with some truly amazing people whose support, encouragement, and perspective have opened my eyes in ways I’m grateful for. At the core of everything I do is intention. I want my brand to genuinely reflect who I am, because for me, skincare is about self-love, care, and stepping fully into your star girl energy.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
I remember being about 8 or 9, sitting in a doctor’s office waiting room with my grandmother and my cousin Mikayla. Two girls around our age were there too, and they started making small, unkind comments toward us that felt like bullying. My cousin is a little older than me, and I always admired her beauty, confidence, and presence.
What I remember most is the awareness I had in that moment. We didn’t react, but I remember looking at my cousin, then at myself, and feeling grounded in who we were. Even then, I understood that when people project negativity, it’s usually because they’re struggling with themselves, not because there’s anything lacking in you.
That moment stayed with me because it was the first time I felt an inner sense of power. I learned that I didn’t need to respond, prove anything, or dim myself. I could just exist in who I was humbly without arrogance. The power in this is non – reactivity. I saw very early that you don’t owe everyone a response and I’ve used this power ever since then.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear that has held me back the most has been opening up and fully communicating with people. At times, I’ve felt like I’m more observant, watching everything unfold while others operate from competitiveness or heightened emotions. It hasn’t always been easy for me to understand that dynamic.
As I’ve begun asserting myself in different environments, I’ve noticed a sense of ease slowly taking its place. For a long time, that fear caused me to keep parts of myself guarded. Now that I’m aware of it, I’m intentionally working toward being more open, expressive, and trusting.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. How do you differentiate between fads and real foundational shifts?
Fads tend to follow what’s trending in the moment, but I’ve always been more focused on creating something lasting. I care about building real, foundational shifts by making sure anything I put out comes from my core and feels exclusive, aligned, never performative, regardless of how it may be perceived.
For me, that’s where a true sense of luxury lives within my skincare brand. Over the past five years with Ella Allure Skin, nothing has been rushed or forced, and nothing has been created in response to what others are doing. Everything has unfolded naturally, with intention and care.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
I think people may misunderstand my journey because it hasn’t followed a predictable path. There have been many chapters and experiences, each meaningful in its own way. I love to have fun, whether that looks like dancing in a club, taking hot photos, going on a date, walking and silence in the mountains, or simply spending quality time with my son. I’m naturally adventurous, and while some of my wild rides through life may be seen as rebellious, they’ve shaped my ability to move through the world.
When people understand that every experience has value, they’ll see that my legacy is rooted in resilience, self-discovery, and becoming something beautiful with intention.
