Veronica & Alvin C, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Just got engaged a week ago!! And my 51st birthday is this week!!
We don’t talk about how challenging love is to find as a successful black female entrepreneur!! But here I am, and I can have it all!!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi I’m Veronica but everyone calls me Vee the NP- a nationally board certified nurse practitioner turned entrepreneur that has lost it all and has found now found her money, her man, and her mind again!!
I help healthcare entrepreneurs turn those procedures into profits while building their private practices, medspas, urgent care centers, or coaching businesses globally.
I own several businesses and made my first million without a business plan, website, or any idea about what I was doing 25 years ago.
I have been challenged since my previous marriage with being successful and finding an amazing, consistent, real love until recently. Most of the successful women that I know of are divorced in my age group and lonely and I did not want that to be my story. So I did the work.. by going to therapy, focusing on my own personal development, increasing my faith and becoming more spiritually grounded… not only do I know that I’m a better business woman when I am loved properly but I am a better woman period.. just because I’m independent doesn’t mean I don’t value marriage and it’s covenant.
My newest business venture is building another multi million dollar business with my fiancé, and future husband the highly sought after image activist & Alvin C Jacobs Jr.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
March 2024, I suffered a near death experience. I was given a 3% chance of surviving a massive saddle pulmonary embolism. Almost dying will definitely give you a different perspective on actually living a life that you enjoy daily! It changed me and reshaped the way that I move through life. I had to release all of the fear and anxiety surrounding pleasing people, being perfect, holding things in, not showing people that you love how much.. nothing brings you back to ground zero faster than the reality of your own mortality. You are looking at a walking miracle.. which is why I don’t do anything that I don’t want to do now and I do everything that I can!
Do you remember a time someone truly listened to you?
People like to call themselves influencers on social media because they think it makes them sound important or because they think it’s a flex.. I am a woman of a certain age and do not want to be known as an influencer.. I am most certainly though a woman of influence. Most people listen to the advice that give them in business because I’ve done all the wrong things before. I always say that if you haven’t been where I want to go then I won’t listen to you. Everyone should live by that same rule.. it would save a lot of pain!
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Absolutely! What you see is what you get LOL.. I’m a straight shooter.. no chaser!
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. When do you feel most at peace?
Traveling brings me soo much peace! Immersing myself in new cultures brings me peace. Quiet time alone brings me peace.
