Today we’d like to introduce you to Albany Jones.

Hi Albany, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I was born in Greensboro, NC to Marcy Jones and Lafayette Clapp. I lived in North Carolina until I moved to Miami Shores to attend Barry University. During my early years in college, I was a collegiate rower and I enjoyed the Miami sun.

Once I completed my B.F.A. Degree in Technical theater with a specialization in scenic and lighting design I traveled for about 5 years full time. I was fortunate to be able to work in my field immediately. When I was still in college I was fortunate enough to work as a production assistant for Disney’s Lion King and Aladdin and a few local production companies. I fell head over heels in love with working behind the scenes.

Upon graduation, I toured with Paw Patrol Live as a Head Carpenter and Head Rigger. From there I became a Company Manager for Post Modern Jukeboxe’s Las Vegas residency at the Mirage. I took my talents to tour in China- working in the entertainment industry. After I made the decision to come back to the USA, I was hired as the Head Carpenter of The Price is Right Live Tour. Covid stopped all shows and large gatherings and I pivoted into Real Estate and became a Production Manager for Right Angle Entertainment. I joined AlmaJAnnie Realty in Greensboro, NC in July of 2020.

In my first year in real estate, I was able to be a multi-million dollar producer. AlmaJAnnie Realty is an amazing boutique firm and it aligns with my core values. It is owned by my mother and I couldn’t be more proud to contribute to such an amazing team. This year, I will be production managing a few titles with Right Angle Entertainment, The Price is Right: Live will be my favorite title to work on.

Right Angle Entertainment specializes in the production, marketing, management and distribution of live theatrical, digital and concert events. RAE’s proud roster includes: America’s Got Talent Live!, The Price is Right LIVE!, The Simon & Garfunkel Story, The Office! A Musical Parody (New York City and National Tour), Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical, Together Live with Abby Wambach and Glennon Doyle, Sasha Velour’s Smoke & Mirrors Tour and the upcoming The Masked Singer National Tour, among many others.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Wow. I have truly have had a wild ride on this journey called life. I keep my head up and primarily isolate myself from things that do not align with my vision and goals.

Everything is not going to go your way but you have to keep pushing, adapt, pivot, regroup and make it work. The show goes on. Life goes on.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
What sets me apart is that I am adaptable and creative. I am an NC Realtor with AlmaJannie Realty and a Production Manager with Right Angle Entertainment. My drive, work ethic, and willingness to sacrifice are what make me different.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk-taking?
I would say that I am a risk-taker. At the start of the pandemic, I was not comfortable with risk. Once I started my journey to real estate investing I became a little more comfortable- I started an Airbnb this year and whew what a journey.

A property that was supposed to be turnkey wound up costing me thousands to repair – that is a story for another day. Now, I am ready to risk it all and bet on myself. -I think I wasn’t as comfortable with risk before because I was comfortable. Without risk, there is no reward.
