Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Bryant.
Hi Amanda, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey into beauty wasn’t a straight path. I worked in dermatology as a medical assistant for seven years before the pandemic shifted my perspective and opened the door to follow a dream I had always carried in my heart. I went back to school for cosmetology at 37 years old and quickly discovered my passion for hair and makeup artistry—especially bridal work. Three years ago, I started working weddings and immediately fell in love with helping brides feel radiant and confident on their special day. Along with bridal, I also work behind the chair at Morgan and Co. Beauty Lounge as a hairstylist, where I get to build lasting connections with guests and express my creativity every day. I’m passionate about making people feel beautiful, whether it’s for the biggest day of their lives or in their everyday style. None of this would have been possible without God—He brought me through many hardships and has carried me through nearly four years of sobriety. Sobriety has been the foundation that allowed me to pursue this dream and step fully into the work I love today. I’m also blessed with an amazing, supportive husband and two beautiful children who inspire me daily and remind me why I’m so passionate about creating a life and career filled with purpose. My story is about restoration, finding my calling, and inspiring other working moms to know it’s never too late to start over and step into the career of your dreams.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has definitely not been smooth. Like many people, I’ve faced hardships and setbacks that could have stopped me in my tracks. One of my biggest challenges was battling addiction, and by God’s grace, I have been walking in sobriety for almost four years now. That decision to get sober changed everything for me—it gave me the clarity, strength, and stability to pursue my dream of working in the beauty industry. Another challenge has been balancing my roles as a wife, mom, and hairstylist while building my career. There were moments of doubt, financial strain, and learning to trust the process. But every obstacle has only made me more determined and grateful, and it’s also given me a heart to encourage other women that no matter what they’ve been through, it’s never too late to start again.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a cosmetologist/hair and makeup artist specializing in bridal and special event beauty as well as blonding and hair transformations. I love creating looks that enhance each client’s natural beauty while making them feel confident and celebrated on their big day. I’m known for my attention to detail, personalized approach, and the ability to make every person that sits in my chair feel seen and special. Out of all my proud moments behind the chair, the one I am most proud of is my sobriety. Staying committed to my recovery over the past four years has allowed me to fully embrace my passion and show up as my best self for my family and my clients.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I’m not much of a reader, but I love learning from people’s stories and experiences whenever I can. The apps I use most are Instagram and TikTok—they’re my go-to for inspiration, staying connected with clients, and keeping up with the latest beauty trends. While I don’t listen to podcasts regularly, I enjoy audio or video content that motivates me, inspires personal growth, and gives tips for building my career and creativity.
